I was just talking to a friend the other day about the difference between being alone by yourself and being alone in the middle of a crowd of people.

I enjoy being alone when it's just me (having a whole house to myself, for instance.) I don't like being alone in a crowd(e.g., at a party or at school.)

Cities are a nice place to visit but they are not the kind of place where I feel at home.
