I am Sorry but that saying is completely bass ackwards- A son is a son till he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter all of her life-- Think about this people- If a son is no longer a son after he marries, why then does the sequence go- IE Joseph Sr - Joseph jr- Joseph III IV ... and not IE Jane Sr, Jane jr, Jane III, IV ... and why in the olden days did the brides family have a DOWRY for the daughter- in essence paying the groom to take their daughter, and why for example did the Rockefeller MEN take the family wealth from generation to generation?

It is more properly: A daughter is a daughter till you give her away but a son is a son all of his day
