I still don't get this motif, and that has got to be the least beautiful photograph to be featured on fingerpost.

It makes me think of Cormac McCarthy stories.

The pictures means:

When you are on drugs/alcohol (the beer) you can get the feeling that you are achieving great things. However, this is only an illusion, and can lead to trouble/death (the horns).

The quote means:

Wounds/trials can cause us to grow and truely achieve greater things than we could have attained previously.
