Ellis Wilson, Funeral Procession (1899 - 1977)

They say such nice things about people
at their funerals that it makes me sad to
realize that I'm going to miss mine by
just a few days.

I'm just going to hold my funeral early.

LOL. Dave Eggers has a story about a guy that holds his funeral early in his collection of short stories, "How We Are Hungry". I highly reccomend! -Lowen

linnea,
your dad's voice has always reminded me of garrison keilor's. it's pleasant to listen to, and great for telling stories.

funerals are all about giving glory to God and not about the person--that's what wise old Rose Beal said--she was a grandmother to me at church and died while i was at Covenant--she said "all about Jeus at my funeral and nothing about Rose Beal"--but that is not how it went down--500 people came to admire and remember her

I want them to throw a party and laugh. Because I love to laugh.
